Lessons from a Free Spirit

Welcome to Pray! you whore, a blog, that takes you on my personal journey of repentance, reconciliation, and redemption. I am so excited to share my transformation. First, let me say I have no regrets about the life I am living. Second, many of us must go through experiences to teach us the things no one can tell us. Last, God created it all including you and so we can find safety in knowing that he loves us flaws and all. The one verse that comes to mind is Proverbs 3:6 " in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Literally, in "all" your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight so even in the darkness and even in our sin we can always call out Jesus' name. Please do not misinterpret what I am saying because I do not believe in becoming a grace abuser. However, I do believe that God can transform us, our minds and hearts. I believe this because he wouldn't have wrote about the Prodigal Son if we weren't all there at some point that same character.

Recently, I have been analyzing the past year, I call it my Jesus year, where I rededicated my life and got baptized for the first time. I dedicated this year to reading the bible and I actually finished it! I stayed committed and I believe that is the difference when God calls you home and delivers you. There is a dependency, a thirst, a yearning to have a relationship with God. As a child, I had a very spiritual encounter and I've continued to have these experiences and encounters into my 34 years old of age. I was always a pure person some would say naive and it was because I was always in the spirit and a believer in God. However, now I realize I left many doors open some forced and some I cracked out of curiosity. Today, I realize I was ignorant and lacked the knowledge as we often quote Hosea 4:6 "my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge." Lets quote the whole verse so we understand the context and the price of being ignorant and illiterate.

Hosea 4:6 quotes in totality " my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God,
I also will ignore your children." This is quite frightening when you realize how lack of understanding can effect generations and your eternity. Now you realize that your worthy and that God sacrificed his only son for us and we take it for granted and abuse his grace. Another lesson is perspective is everything and I truly had no perspective even after attending a Christian private school and college. I still had no true understanding nor did I have a relationship with the Lord. So when I committed to reading the Word for myself this year I stumbled upon many revelations and confirmations that Holy Spirit led me to. The next lesson is read the Word of God for yourself and let the Holy Spirit guide you. Many times we are misled by social media, leaders and even our parents.

The love our Heavenly Father, our Creator, can never be replaced or compared. In Romans 5:8 it says " But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Its interesting that we are so quick to dismiss all that was sacrificed for us to return home. We have free will and the free gift of salvation if we choose to step int our identity as a child of God. again we find this stated clearly in I John 5:1 " Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well." This is important because it puts our relationship with God into perspective. If we love someone would we cheat on them, mistreat them or ignore them perhaps we would live our lives in obedience. We often grab on to the quote "ignorance is bliss" but we often aren't ready for the consequences.

One of the most popular verses in Christianity is John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." We must understand how great of a gift we received. If I would've understood that when he died for us he paid all of our debts and this is the most important concept to comprehend. I know that I did not realize the consequences of curiosity, disobedience and pride. We are at war spiritually and it costs to be a free spirit because you are opening doors to Satan whose main goal is to steal our soul. Satans goal is the same as the beginning with Adam and Eve he uses craftiness to legally separate us from our Heavenly Father and the freedom we have under Jesus Christ. Now I can see the consequences of being a free spirit because I was not aware that we are at war spiritually from the day we are born.

The last lesson is that we must be aware of the truth. The truth is that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. Being gifted, I explored New Age, Buddhism and practiced yoga before spending time with my Creator, God. These are all doors I opened unknowingly but I am grateful because it led me back home. I now understand John 10:10 wholeheartedly as it states "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." However, I am so grateful that I now truly understand all that Jesus has done for me and us as his children. I only ask that you learn the lessons form a free spirit and claim your spirit back and submit it to the one and only true God. My advice is to read the Word of God daily, share a lifestyle of repentance, and most importantly thank God for all that he has done for you. I used to classify myself as a feeler and a knower but now I realize that God was with me the whole time and revealing the truth to me the whole time.

Please read John 4:23-24 where it says " Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” Remember when Adam was in the Garden of Eden after they ate the apple and God says "where are you?" Adam was hiding because the spirit of fear had taken him out of the presence of the God. Before their sin they were able to exist in the Spirit realm and in the earthly realm. God was still waiting for him and was still waiting for him to repent and remain in Spirit and in truth however, a door was opened. Now that we are aware and awake we must move in our true identity and realize that our spirit is already paid for. All we must do is walk in the Lord and receive the free gift of salvation! I encourage you to make a decision today and join the winning team! It is not worth it and you are worth it!
