Daily Routine
Today was amazing and exactly what I needed to hear at church. I struggle with anxiety and the spirit of perfectionism which has kept me in delay for way too long. Today, was a reminder that Gods mercy, intelligence and grace is far beyond what we can comprehend. The devil is the master manipulator and he often uses truth to deceive us all because we often lack discernment and wisdom. We often lack the daily rituals/ routines that matter. In my Jesus year I vowed to read the whole Bible in a year and the change in my life has been miraculous. So today I encourage you to focus on your daily routine with God first: pray daily, read the word of God, and take of your temple daily.

As I mentioned above (please read) I struggle with anxiety and perfectionism which kept me in the spirit of delay for way too long. The enemy often uses our strengths, talents and gifts for his use, not our Creator, God. He often manipulates our God given abilities and talents for lawlessness and disobedience. We have to increase our discernment and knowledge so that we are prepared to fight back because Jesus has already won on our behalf. Remember, that when you follow Jesus you receive a free gift of dominion, authority and freedom. The verse Jentzen Franklin wanted us to review was Psalms 68:19-20 which instructs us to " Praise the Lord; praise God our Savior! For EACH DAY he carries us in his arms. Our God is a God who saves! The Sovereign Lord rescues us from death." WOW! We are so blessed!
Who am I? I can never offer a sacrifice as great and as powerful as what God did for us. My only job is to make sure that you know the gift and peace available to you by accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior. Once you know the truth the clouds of confusion disappear, the bondage is now broken, and the unconditional love given by God is received. Do you know how amazing Gods love is? Most of us do not know because we do not read the word of God or even bring our bibles to church anymore. I loved that my pastor is unafraid to call us out and humble us because we all need tough love and discipline.
Today I was encouraged because oftentimes we walk in pride and ego when we need to be walking with Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for reminding me that you only give us what we can handle and that is a daily journey. We do not know the future, no tarot cards, no prophet, not even your own revelation can be trusted. However the love of God, the daily, consistent walk and relationship with the Lord can. In Matthew he repeats this message often by explaining how unhealthy it is to worry about the future or the past. He states in Matthew 4:4 "No! The scripture say, 'People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God." How simple is it to lay our plans down at the alter and trust Gods will, our creators plan instead of our own. Its hard! Do not pretend that you know it all because wisdom is admitting you know nothing. He continues to remind us in Matthew of the following :
Matthew 6:11 "Give us today the food we need,
Matthew 6:34 "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today."
Everyday we must die to our ego and humble ourself in the suffering because that is truly depending on God and what keeps us close to him. As we live in an era of selfies, consumption and deception we have to know our identity in Christ. In I Corinthians 15:31 Paul reminds us "For I swear, dear brothers and sisters, that I face death daily. This is as certain as my pride in what Christ Jesus our Lord has done in you." Thank you for reminding us that we have to die to addictions, attitudes and bad habits daily. Nobody is exempt or perfect but the Lord. When we embrace how much we need to be in relationship with the Lord then transformation can begin. He states that our job is to warn people NOW because tomorrow is never promised. In Hebrews 3:13 " You must warn each other every day while it is still "today," so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God." The truth will set you free and we need the Lords grace and mercy daily.
If it were easy everyone would do it! This is what many think but the harsh reality is that not everyone will make it to heaven even if the intention was to make it as easy and simple as possible. You are meant to trust God daily, obey his laws daily and be the light for others daily. Jesus specifically told us in Luke 9:23 " Then he said to the crowd, "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me." The truth is I have struggled with anxiety, perfectionism and delay because I have struggled to pick up my own cross and obey Gods law. I was following the Babylonian system, a victim of culture, or leadership and discipleship. However, as I write those words even that sounds like blame and lack of responsibility and accountability. I encourage you to take up your cross daily and have a relationship with God. The Lord is not a genie but a God of principle, passion and grace! Please enjoy the sermon above and ask yourself: What does picking up my cross daily actually look like?
