MY STORY: MY JESUS YEAR
3/31/20255 min read
Welcome
Welcome to Pray! you whore, a blog that shares my personal journey with the Lord through prayer, repentance, and the truth of God's Word.
Before you judge the title, I invite you to stay for the story.
The title is not meant to condemn anyone. It is rooted in the language God uses throughout the book of Hosea to describe His covenant relationship with His people. Like Hosea, this blog is ultimately a story of redemption, reconciliation, and God's relentless pursuit of those He loves.
As ambassadors of Christ, we have been given the incredible gift of salvation, freedom, and a new identity through Jesus Christ.
For most of my life, I built my identity on accolades, accomplishments, and achievement—but not on God's authority. Even though I graduated from college and identified as a Christian, I was still missing the mark. I lacked discipleship, lived according to the world's standards, and slowly drifted into distraction, doubt, and disobedience, much like Eve in the Garden of Eden.
I invite you to join me on this journey of discovering just how blessed we are to be sons and daughters of God.
God is not a dictator or a manipulator.
He gives us free will because love cannot be forced.
Like a loving Father, He has already done everything necessary for us to experience life, freedom, and purpose. He created us, knows us completely, and desires what is ultimately best for us.
The hardest part is believing that truth when life has shown us something very different.
As you read these pages, I hope you see my vulnerability. I am opening some of the deepest parts of my heart because I never want you to feel alone.
God is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient.
Long before anyone knew your name, He knew you.
Psalm 139:13 beautifully reminds us:
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb."
Pause and think about that.
God intentionally knit you together.
You were never an accident.
Yet many of us struggle to believe that truth. We search for love, acceptance, and identity everywhere except in the One who created us. Our wounds, rejection, abandonment, and limited understanding of God's Word often lead us away from Him and toward idols that promise fulfillment but leave us empty.
Today, I want to remind you that you have a Heavenly Father who created you with purpose and who has never stopped pursuing you.
Do not allow the distractions of this world to steal your soul—your mind, your will, and your emotions.
For much of my life, I unknowingly played for the losing team.
Today, I invite you to join the winning one.
Your invitation has already been written.
Your inheritance has already been secured.
All you have to do is accept it.
We trust the words printed on our currency that say, "In God We Trust," yet how often do we truly trust God Himself?
This blog is about learning to do exactly that.
God desires to rescue us from spiritual unfaithfulness, and yes, He uses bold language throughout Scripture to describe it. Before taking offense, I encourage you to read the book of Hosea for yourself. There is incredible power in knowing God's Word—but only when knowledge leads us to humility rather than pride.
I know that lesson personally.
Knowledge became an idol in my own life.
So did self-sufficiency.
So did pride.
This blog is not written from a place of superiority.
It is written from a place of repentance.
I am preaching to myself first.
If you find yourself becoming offended, pause before reacting.
Ask the Lord to search your heart.
Pray.
Repent.
Invite the Holy Spirit to reveal whatever He wants to heal.
Whether you agree with everything I write or struggle with parts of my testimony, my prayer is that your focus remains on Jesus Christ rather than on me.
God led me to the book of Hosea during one of the most broken seasons of my life.
I am an unmarried single mother of two beautiful boys, carrying heartbreak, disappointment, and shame.
Yet my circumstances no longer define me because my identity has been redefined in Christ.
The Lord gently reminded me through Hosea that I am worthy—not because of my past, but because of His covenant love.
For years I read countless books while neglecting the one Book that had the power to transform my life.
I assumed I was saved because I carried the title "Christian."
But I had never truly cultivated a relationship with Jesus Christ.
All along, the Lord was drawing me back to Himself.
Psalm 34:18 says:
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Those words became deeply personal.
Hosea 2:14–17 became another turning point in my life:
"Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her... And in that day, declares the Lord, you will call me 'My Husband,' and no longer will you call me 'My Baal.'"
When I finally opened my Bible with an open heart, I felt as though I had been reunited with my closest Friend.
This blog became my journal.
My testimony.
My first act of sustained obedience.
Until November 13, 2024, I had never truly surrendered my life to Jesus Christ.
I had not been baptized.
I had not understood repentance.
I had not realized how many idols I had placed before God.
Now I understand that much of my pain resulted from trying to build life my own way instead of God's way.
God's love language is obedience—not because He desires control, but because He desires our freedom.
He has never loved me less.
He has simply loved me better than I understood.
God invites us to talk with Him about everything.
He calls us into sanctification so that we can fulfill the purpose He created us for.
The Lord intentionally led me to Hosea 3:3:
"You must dwell as mine for many days. You shall not play the whore or belong to another man; so will I also be to you."
That Scripture convicted me deeply.
It led me to leave my fiancé's home and return to my father's house so I could heal the wounded little girl inside me who had learned to survive but had never truly learned to rest in God's love.
For me, Pray! you whore represents an honest conversation between God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and me.
As an athlete, I became accustomed to strong coaching, correction, and accountability.
That is often how the Lord lovingly speaks to me.
He is my Coach.
He challenges me.
He corrects me.
He encourages me.
And He always does so from a place of perfect love.
My purpose in sharing this journey is simple:
To lead others toward repentance.
To point people to redemption.
To remind every reader that no one is beyond the reach of God's grace.
One day I will look back on this moment and realize it was only the beginning.
Today, I choose covenant with Christ above everything else.
My prayer is that these words encourage you to seek the Lord for yourself, discover your identity in Him, and join a community committed to walking in truth, obedience, and love.

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
