Redeem your Family Name

Welcome to Pray! you whore, a blog, that takes you on my personal journey of repentance, reconciliation, and redemption. This week has been a powerful week around family curses and trauma. Most of my life I have trying to do it man's way and prove to my family that I am worth it and I am still not good enough. However, God was training me to trust God's way and be obedient to his guidance and surrender to his purpose in my life. God has revealed to me that i am the repairer of the breach in my family bloodline. He is slowly revealing to me what and how to fight and restore my family. I am honored and blessed to be chosen as a daughter of God sent to restore generational curses on the bloodline. I have often asked why? Why has my life been so difficult? Why have I survived death and sin? It is for this reason, so that I can return boldly with healing and confidence to restore the foundations that have been cracked and broken in my family. This requires exploitation before the refinement and fixing of the foundational issues and inner healing and deliverance required to elevate. I challenge you to ask God to reveal what you are breaking off of your generational bloodline?

Breaking the Cycle

Welcome to Pray! you whore, a blog that shares my personal journey of repentance, reconciliation, and redemption.

This week has been a powerful season of reflection on family patterns, generational brokenness, and God's incredible power to restore what has been wounded.

For most of my life, I tried to do things the world's way. I spent years trying to prove my worth to my family, believing that if I accomplished enough or became successful enough, I would finally feel accepted.

Yet no achievement could heal what only God could restore.

The Lord has patiently been teaching me to trust His way instead of my own. He has shown me that obedience is more valuable than striving and that surrender is more powerful than self-reliance.

As I have grown in my relationship with Christ, I have sensed Him calling me to become a repairer within my family—a person who chooses healing instead of bitterness, forgiveness instead of resentment, and faith instead of fear.

God has slowly been revealing how to pray, how to fight spiritually, and how to walk in wisdom for the sake of future generations.

One truth that has deeply impacted me is how our family experiences shape us.

Modern research on epigenetics suggests that trauma can influence future generations in significant ways. While science and Scripture approach this subject differently, both remind us that the choices of one generation can affect the next.

Growing up as the oldest daughter in a divorced family, I carried wounds I did not fully understand.

As a child, I absorbed much of the pain my parents experienced.

Now that I am a parent myself, I recognize more clearly than ever how important healing truly is.

I do not want my children to inherit wounds that I refuse to confront.

Looking back, I can now recognize patterns of brokenness, bitterness, pride, and unhealthy behaviors within my family.

For years, I blamed myself.

At other times, I blamed others.

Today, God has been teaching me something different.

Healing begins when we stop assigning blame and begin inviting Him into the places that need restoration.

If unhealthy roots remain untouched, they continue producing unhealthy fruit.

I never imagined becoming a single mother with two children by different fathers.

That was never my intention.

Yet God has used every part of my story to humble me, refine me, and deepen my understanding of His grace.

Instead of condemning my past, He has used it to teach me compassion.

Recently, during a Sunday message, Pastor Jentezen Franklin spoke about generational patterns in a way that deeply convicted me.

As I stood at the altar praying for my family, I felt the Holy Spirit continually reminding me of my assignment—not to carry shame, but to pursue healing.

He was teaching me to forgive myself as He healed wounds that extended far beyond my own lifetime.

Today, I choose wisdom instead of resentment.

Discernment instead of bitterness.

Grace instead of anger.

One biblical account that especially challenged me is the story of Korah's rebellion in Numbers 16.

Verses 32–33 describe the devastating consequences of rebellion against God:

"The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them and their households, and all those associated with Korah..."

Reading this passage reminded me that rebellion never affects only one person.

Our choices influence families, communities, and future generations.

The lesson God impressed upon my heart was simple:

Choose obedience.

Choose humility.

Choose God's way rather than merely repeating inherited patterns.

When we become part of the body of Christ, we receive a new identity and belong to a new spiritual family.

That truth has become one of the greatest sources of hope in my life.

Earlier this week, I spent several hours in prayer and deliverance with Reverend James Solomon.

During that time, I learned more about the importance of bringing every hidden burden before the Lord.

Many of us may not fully understand the struggles carried by previous generations.

Yet we can confidently bring every burden into the light of Christ, trusting His power to redeem, heal, and restore.

God's Word never returns void.

His promises remain true throughout every generation.

Joshua 6 provides a remarkable example of this.

After the destruction of Jericho, Joshua pronounced a solemn warning regarding anyone who would rebuild the city.

Centuries later, during the reign of King Ahab, that warning was fulfilled exactly as Scripture records in 1 Kings 16:34.

Reading those passages reminded me that God's Word is always trustworthy.

He means what He says.

His promises—and His warnings—remain true.

At the same time, Rahab's story reminds us of another beautiful truth.

Although she came from a broken past, her faith brought salvation not only to herself but also to her household.

Grace interrupted her family's story.

That gives me tremendous hope.

My prayer is that we learn to release resentment toward previous generations while embracing the new identity we have received through Jesus Christ.

We cannot change the past.

But we can pray.

We can forgive.

We can choose obedience.

We can leave a different legacy for those who come after us.

One verse that continues to encourage me is 2 Chronicles 20:15:

"Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's."

Those words remind me daily that I do not fight alone.

God is faithful.

He is our Defender.

He is our Redeemer.

He is restoring families one surrendered heart at a time.

If you are carrying pain from your family history, remember this:

Your past does not define your future.

Your identity is no longer determined by your earthly bloodline.

Through Jesus Christ, you have been adopted into God's eternal family.

Walk in that authority.

Pray boldly.

Love generously.

Forgive freely.

And trust that God is able to redeem every generation that surrenders to Him.

Prayer Works!

Connecting hearts through the power of prayer.

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
