Remember Who You Are

Welcome to Pray! You Whore, a blog that invites you into my personal journey of repentance, reconciliation, and redemption through Jesus Christ.

Walking with the Lord and the Holy Spirit has been the greatest adventure of my life.

Every season, God continues to reveal more of His heart and more of my own. Over the past week, He has reminded me of one simple yet life-changing truth:

You are deeply loved.

God sees every tear.

He sees every setback.

He sees every season of suffering.

He sees every moment we wander from Him.

Yet even in our backsliding, His grace continues to pursue us.

His mercy continues to restore us.

His love never fails.

Grace Changes Everything

One of the greatest lies our culture teaches is that our worth is determined by what we accomplish.

We introduce ourselves by our careers.

We measure success by our income.

We compare ourselves by titles, influence, education, and achievements.

But God's Kingdom operates differently.

Romans 11:6 reminds us:

"And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace."

Grace cannot be earned.

It can only be received.

That truth changed my life.

Just Be

This is the heartbeat behind Just Be.

It is more than a podcast.

More than a brand.

More than a slogan.

It is a declaration of identity.

It is God's reminder that before you accomplished anything...

Before you earned a title...

Before anyone applauded your success...

You were already loved.

You were already known.

You were already chosen.

We were created in the image of God.

When we place our faith in Jesus Christ, we are adopted into the family of God and become sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father.

Our identity is no longer built on performance.

It is rooted in relationship.

Before You Were Born

One passage the Lord continues to bring before me is Jeremiah 1:5–7:

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart... But the Lord said to me, 'Do not say, "I am too young." You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you.'"

Think about that for a moment.

God knew you before anyone else did.

He loved you before you ever loved Him.

He established purpose before you ever understood your calling.

That means your value has never been determined by your accomplishments.

Your value has always been determined by your Creator.

Every gift you possess is ultimately meant to glorify Him.

The Life I Didn't Plan

One of the greatest revelations of my life has been accepting that my story looks nothing like the one I imagined.

For a long time, I resisted that reality.

I questioned God.

I questioned myself.

I wondered why my plans continued to fall apart.

Looking back, I now realize I was trying to build a life apart from God's design.

Whenever we insist on our own way, we often experience unnecessary suffering.

My rebellion.

My pride.

My self-reliance.

My people-pleasing.

All of those things eventually led me back to the One I had been searching for all along.

My identity was never meant to come from my surroundings.

It was always meant to come from Christ.

Identity Changes Everything

One thing I have learned is this:

Every human being wrestles with identity.

We all long to belong.

We all long to be loved.

We all long to know who we are and why we are here.

When we search for identity apart from God, we often attach ourselves to things that were never designed to define us.

But when we discover our identity in Christ, everything begins to change.

Confusion gives way to clarity.

Fear gives way to peace.

Shame gives way to grace.

Purpose begins to replace striving.

The closer we draw to our Creator, the more clearly we understand who we were created to be.

You Belong

God never intended for His children to live alone.

He created us for relationship.

Relationship with Him.

Relationship with one another.

Relationship within the family of faith.

Ephesians 2:19 reminds us:

"Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of His household."

What an incredible promise.

You are not an outsider.

You are not forgotten.

You are not abandoned.

You belong to the household of God.

Our Heavenly Father knew every struggle we would face before we ever faced it.

He is not distant.

He is not harsh.

He is not waiting to condemn us.

He is a loving Father waiting with open arms for His children to come home.

The Greatest Gift

At thirty-three years old, after all of my experiences, achievements, disappointments, and failures, I can honestly say this:

There is no greater identity than being a daughter of God.

No career can replace it.

No relationship can surpass it.

No amount of success can satisfy the deepest longing of the human heart.

The greatest gift I have ever received is remembering who I truly am.

Not because I found myself.

But because Christ found me.

Do You Remember?

Today, I leave you with one question.

Do you remember who you are?

Not what the world has called you.

Not what your past has told you.

Not what your failures whisper.

Who does God say you are?

When you begin believing His voice above every other voice, your life begins to change.

You stop striving to become enough...

Because you discover that, in Christ, you have always been deeply loved.

You have always belonged.

And by His grace...

You can finally Just Be.
