UNFAVORABLE

Many of us face unfavorable circumstances or environments. However we must remember that God gives the blessings and the breaking. He created the light and the darkness and good to evil. In society we cling to a duality perspective and interpretation. However, I heard this beautifully explained that it is not good or evil but good to evil. Remember when God created all things he created something beautiful from darkness. When we look at our unfavorable circumstance just remember that you cannot limit God nor can you limit the God in you. Remember that we are made in his Gods image and when he created the earth with intention, purpose and instructions. Genesis 1:1-3 explains "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. From darkness and formlessness he created our home and we still doubt what God can do in our lives.

The beauty of studying the word of God is the amazing stories and reflections of our own circumstances in these stories. I want to share what encouraged me to embrace the unfavorable conditions because God has called me to lead. Truth is... I have avoided responsibility and the calling on my life for a long time because of my pride and spirit of perfectionism. However God will humble you and bring you to a place of dependence and surrender in the Lord. We are God's creation and we are made in his likeness so study Jesus so we can be comforted in the struggles. Remember Jesus was born of a woman and completely human and suffered persecution, pain and trauma. I am grateful that Jesus, the Son of God, followed through with God's will and obtained salvation for all humans. I am reminded of the truth that Jesus shared in John 14:6 "Jesus told him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." Those are the facts! God took a dark situation and turned it into light!

I lived a lot of my life in rebellion and fear and I am here to share that unfavorable conditions are never a failure but a lesson to trust in the Lord and build the Kingdom on earth. For so long, I was following the world, family and environments and I lost myself. I use to pride myself in adaptability but I was truly lost, deceived and distracted. I am here today to encourage you to bind yourself to prayer and focus on a relationship with Jesus Christ. My life has changed because I've finally accepted the truth and my true identity. I am reminded everyday how important it is to repent and live a lifestyle committed to the Lord and our Heavenly Father. When I read the word of God I am reminded of the presence, relationship and trust required to live each day surrendered to God's will. Truly, I find peace and love in myself because of trusting in the Lord and sharing my journey boldly.

I am reminded in Acts 4 that we have always faced persecution, trials and betrayal. That is when God’s glory is exalted and magnified even more. That is the beauty of embracing your true identity, being a part of the Kingdom and understanding that we worship the King of all Kings. We have no worries because we worship before we worry. Today, I am empowered by the light that I possess and the mission to heal the world by sharing the truth and preserving the Spirit. Lets look at Acts 4: 26-31 as an example of God's glory and power in the earth. The verses states ‘Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?
26 The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his anointed one. 27 Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed. 28 They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen. 29 Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. 30 Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus. 31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly."

After reading this I cannot help but look at the the world today and see the relevance and state of our current world reflected in these verses. Although we face hate, rebellion and disobedience that is leading to war, injustice and inhumane conditions. I can't help but to be encouraged in these unfavorable circumstances because I know that God has given us dominion over this earth. He has given us power and the ability to follow through with our mission for the Kingdom on earth. I am so grateful that God has called me by name and given me an anointing to heal and love others. Today I hope you feel encouraged, inspired and motivated to stay in prayer and in relationship with our Lord and Savior. In John 16:33 he reminds us “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” My challenge is that you focus on how to boldly speak the word of God and boldly live a life that represents your true identity as a child of God.
